The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) provides advanced nursing care, consultation, and expertise in a specialized area of practice. Requirements:
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) with a specialization in the relevant clinical area.Â
- Current RN licensure in the state of employment; Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licensure required.Â
- Certification as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in the relevant specialty area preferred.Â
- Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical experience in the specialty area; previous CNS experience preferred.Â
- Advanced clinical skills and knowledge in the specialty area.Â
- Ability to analyze and interpret complex clinical data.Â
- Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.Â
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Â
- Proficiency in evidence-based practice and quality improvement methodologies.Â
Responsibilities:
- Provide expert clinical care and consultation in the specialty area to improve patient outcomes.Â
- Develop and implement evidence-based practice guidelines and protocols.Â
- Educate and mentor nursing staff and other healthcare professionals on best practices and clinical skills.Â
- Conduct research and analyze data to identify trends, improve practices, and enhance patient care.Â
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to address complex patient care issues and optimize treatment plans.Â
- Lead and participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs.Â
- Evaluate patient care and outcomes to ensure adherence to best practices and standards of care.Â
- Advocate for patient needs and work to improve patient satisfaction and overall experience.Â
Pay Rate:
$45 - $65 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
