Job Description:

The State Tested Nursing Aide (STNA) provides essential care and support to patients, primarily in long-term care facilities, hospitals, and nursing homes. This role involves assisting patients with daily living activities, monitoring vital signs, and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment. The ideal candidate is compassionate, detail-oriented, and committed to enhancing the quality of life for patients. The state tested nurse aide plays a crucial role in maintaining the well-being of patients and supporting the healthcare team. 

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent. 
  • Current State Tested Nursing Aide (STNA) certification in the state of employment. 
  • Prior experience in a healthcare setting is preferred but not required; new graduates are encouraged to apply. 
  • Proficiency in basic patient care tasks, including bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility assistance. 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team. 
  • Basic knowledge of infection control practices. 
  • Ability to lift and move patients, stand for extended periods, and perform physically demanding tasks. 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. 
  • Monitor and record vital signs, such as temperature, blood pressure, and pulse. 
  • Help patients with mobility, including transferring them to and from beds or wheelchairs. 
  • Report any changes in patient conditions to the nursing staff. 
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment for patients. 
  • Assist with feeding patients who require help and ensure they receive adequate nutrition. 
  • Provide emotional support to patients and their families, fostering a positive and caring atmosphere. 
  • Follow all safety and infection control procedures to protect patients and staff. 

Pay Rate:

$19 - $25 per hour, depending on experience and location.
