Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing program.Â
- Current RN licensure in the state of employment; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required; Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification preferred.Â
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a cardiac or critical care setting; experience in cardiac emergency units or ICUs is highly desirable.Â
- Strong clinical skills in cardiology and emergency care.Â
- Ability to interpret and respond to complex cardiac monitoring data (e.g., EKGs, telemetry).Â
- Proficiency in administering medications and treatments for cardiac patients, including emergency interventions.Â
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams.Â
- Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform tasks requiring physical exertion in a fast-paced environment.Â
Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized nursing care to patients with acute and chronic cardiac conditions in a hospital setting.Â
- Monitor cardiac patients using advanced monitoring equipment, including telemetry and EKGs, and respond to any changes in patient condition.Â
- Administer medications and interventions for cardiac emergencies, including defibrillation, IV medications, and other life-saving procedures.Â
- Assist in cardiac procedures and surgeries, such as catheterizations, angioplasties, and bypass surgeries.Â
- Educate patients and families on managing cardiac conditions, including post-procedural care and lifestyle changes.Â
- Document patient care activities and maintain accurate records in electronic health systems.Â
- Collaborate with physicians, cardiologists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans for cardiac patients.Â
- Participate in continuing education and training in cardiac care and emergency nursing.Â
Pay Rate:
$38 - $55 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
