Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a certified medical assistant program.Â
- Current certification from a recognized medical assistant certification body (e.g., AAMA, AMT).Â
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a medical assisting role, preferably in a hospital or cardiac care setting.Â
- Proficiency in taking vital signs, performing basic lab tests, and assisting with medical procedures.Â
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and medical office software.Â
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.Â
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Â
- Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform tasks involving physical exertion.Â
Responsibilities:
- Clinical Tasks:Â
- Prepare patients for examination and assist healthcare providers during procedures.Â
- Take and record patient vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, and temperature.Â
- Perform basic laboratory tests and collect specimens for analysis.Â
- Administer medications and injections as directed by healthcare providers.Â
- Provide patient education on treatments, medications, and follow-up care.Â
- Administrative Tasks:Â
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments, ensuring optimal use of time and resources.Â
- Manage patient records and update information in electronic health records (EHR).Â
- Handle insurance claims and billing processes.Â
- Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment, including sterilizing equipment and preparing exam rooms.Â
- Patient Care:Â
- Offer compassionate support to patients and their families, addressing any concerns or questions.Â
- Assist in the coordination of care with other healthcare providers and departments.Â
- Monitor patient conditions and report any significant changes to the healthcare team.Â
Pay Rate:
$20 - $28 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
