Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing program.
- Current RN licensure in the state of employment; Certification in Nephrology Nursing (CNN) preferred or required.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in dialysis or related fields; experience with hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis preferred.
- Proficiency in operating dialysis machines and related equipment.
- Strong understanding of renal disease and dialysis treatment protocols.
- Excellent communication and patient care skills.
- Ability to handle emergencies and make quick decisions.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform physical tasks related to patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Perform and monitor dialysis treatments for patients with chronic or acute renal failure.
- Prepare and set up dialysis machines, including proper sterilization and maintenance.
- Assess and monitor patients’ vital signs, fluid levels, and overall health during treatments.
- Administer medications and manage patient care as prescribed by nephrologists.
- Educate patients and their families about dialysis procedures, dietary requirements, and lifestyle adjustments.
- Document patient care and treatment details accurately in electronic health records.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and adjust care plans based on patient needs.
- Respond to and manage any complications or emergencies that arise during dialysis treatments.
Pay Rate:
$32 - $45 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
