Job Description:

The Dishwasher is an essential member of the kitchen staff, responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization within the kitchen area. This dishwasher job involves washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment, ensuring that all items are properly sanitized and ready for use. The ideal candidate is hardworking, efficient, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment. The Dishwasher plays a crucial role in supporting the overall kitchen operations and maintaining high standards of cleanliness. 

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required. 
  • Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is a plus but not mandatory. 
  • Strong attention to detail and cleanliness. 
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently, especially during peak times. 
  • Basic understanding of sanitation and hygiene practices. 
  • Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions. 
  • Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform repetitive tasks associated with dishwashing and cleaning. 

Responsibilities:

  • Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and other kitchen equipment. 
  • Ensure that all items are cleaned and stored properly in their designated areas. 
  • Maintain cleanliness in the dishwashing area, including cleaning floors, counters, and sinks. 
  • Dispose of garbage and recycling according to established procedures. 
  • Assist kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks as needed. 
  • Monitor dishwashing supplies and communicate needs to the supervisor. 
  • Follow all health and safety regulations to maintain a clean and safe working environment. 
  • Perform additional cleaning tasks as requested by the kitchen manager or chef. 

Pay Rate:

$10 - $14 per hour, depending on experience and location.
