Job Description:

The Float Pool Nurse provides flexible and versatile nursing care across various departments and units within a healthcare facility. This float pool nurse job requires the ability to adapt quickly to different clinical environments and patient populations, offering support where it is most needed. The Float Pool Nurse is crucial for maintaining optimal patient care levels during peak times, staff shortages, or increased patient volume. This position requires a broad skill set and strong problem-solving abilities to ensure high-quality care across diverse medical settings. 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing program. 
  • Current RN licensure in the state of employment. 
  • Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience in acute care settings; experience in multiple specialties preferred. 
  • Proficiency in a wide range of clinical skills and procedures. 
  • Strong adaptability and problem-solving abilities. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Capacity to handle varying patient needs and work environments. 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide nursing care across various departments and units as needed, including medical-surgical, emergency, intensive care, and specialty units. 
  • Assess patient conditions, administer medications, and perform treatments in accordance with care plans and medical orders. 
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide comprehensive patient care. 
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation. 
  • Adjust quickly to new and varying clinical environments, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability. 
  • Assist with patient admissions, discharges, and transfers as required. 
  • Educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatments, and care plans. 
  • Adhere to all facility policies and procedures, including infection control and safety protocols. 

Pay Rate:

$40 - $55 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
