Job Description:

The Grill Chef is responsible for preparing and cooking grilled dishes to perfection, ensuring high-quality food presentation and taste. This chef job involves operating the grill station, managing the cooking process for various meats, seafood, and vegetables, and ensuring that all dishes meet the establishment’s standards. The ideal candidate is passionate about grilling, has a keen eye for detail, and can work efficiently in a high-pressure kitchen environment as a grill chef. 

Requirements:

  • Culinary degree or relevant certification preferred, but not required. 
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Grill Chef or in a similar role. 
  • Proficiency in grilling techniques and knowledge of different cuts of meat and their cooking times. 
  • Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices. 
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple orders simultaneously. 
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team. 
  • Ability to stand for long periods, work in a hot environment, and lift up to 50 pounds. 

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook grilled dishes according to the menu and customer specifications. 
  • Operate and maintain the grill station, including cleaning and organizing the workspace. 
  • Monitor food quality and ensure that dishes are cooked to the correct temperature and taste. 
  • Manage inventory of grill items, including meats, seafood, and vegetables, and communicate any shortages to the kitchen manager. 
  • Ensure that all food safety and sanitation standards are strictly followed. 
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient and timely service. 
  • Assist with menu development by suggesting new grilled items or modifications to existing dishes. 
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including the proper handling of kitchen equipment. 

Pay Rate:

$15 - $22 per hour, depending on experience and location.
