Job Description:

The Kitchen Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations, ensuring that food preparation, staff management, and sanitation meet high standards of quality and efficiency. This kitchen manager job involves coordinating kitchen activities, managing inventory, and leading a team of kitchen staff to deliver exceptional dining experiences. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, culinary expertise, and a deep understanding of food safety regulations, making them a highly effective kitchen supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Culinary Arts degree or equivalent experience preferred. 
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a kitchen or food service management role. 
  • Proven leadership and team management skills. 
  • In-depth knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations. 
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. 
  • Proficiency in inventory management and cost control. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Food Safety Manager Certification (e.g., ServSafe) preferred. 

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating. 
  • Manage and supervise kitchen staff, including hiring, training, and scheduling. 
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards, including proper storage and handling of food. 
  • Develop and implement menus, including recipe creation and portion control. 
  • Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage food costs to stay within budget. 
  • Conduct regular inspections of kitchen equipment and facilities to ensure they are in good working order. 
  • Address and resolve any issues or complaints related to food quality or service. 
  • Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth communication and service. 
  • Stay current with industry trends and incorporate new techniques and recipes as appropriate. 

Pay Rate:

$18 - $25 per hour, depending on experience and location.
