Job Description:

The Nurse Educator at our large medical institution will play a pivotal role in developing, implementing, and evaluating educational programs for nursing staff. This nurse educator job involves creating and delivering training to enhance the clinical skills and knowledge of nurses, ensuring they meet the highest standards of patient care. The Nurse Educator will collaborate with various departments to address educational needs, develop competency-based curricula, and stay updated on the latest healthcare trends and practices. 

Requirements:

  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) with a focus on nursing education or administration. 
  • Current RN licensure in the state of employment; Nurse Educator certification preferred. 
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical nursing experience; previous experience in a nursing education or training role is highly desirable. 
  • Strong knowledge of nursing theory and practice. 
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver educational programs. 
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to assess learning needs and outcomes effectively. 
  • Proficiency with educational technology and online learning platforms. 
  • Ability to travel within the institution for training sessions and workshops. 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement educational programs and training sessions for nursing staff on various clinical and professional topics. 
  • Assess the educational needs of the nursing staff and design curricula that address these needs. 
  • Conduct orientation and continuing education programs for new and existing staff. 
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of educational programs through feedback, assessments, and performance evaluations. 
  • Collaborate with department heads and clinical leaders to identify and address knowledge gaps and improve nursing practices. 
  • Stay current with advancements in nursing practice, educational techniques, and healthcare regulations to ensure relevant and up-to-date training. 
  • Mentor and support nursing staff in their professional development and career growth. 
  • Prepare and maintain educational materials, including manuals, online resources, and presentations. 

Pay Rate:

$40 - $60 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
