As a TEAP (Trainee Employee Assistance Program) Specialist, also known as a Drug/Alcohol Counselor, you will be responsible for providing counseling and support services to individuals struggling with substance abuse issues. You will develop and implement prevention, education, and intervention programs aimed at promoting healthy lifestyle choices. The ideal candidate will have experience in substance abuse counseling, strong communication skills, and a commitment to helping individuals achieve and maintain sobriety.Â

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.Â
- Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) or equivalent certification required.Â
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in substance abuse counseling or a related field.Â
- Strong counseling and intervention skills.Â
- Ability to develop and deliver educational programs on substance abuse prevention.Â
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Â
- Ability to work with a diverse population and in a multidisciplinary team environment.Â
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems is a plus.Â
- Ability to perform general office duties, including sitting, standing, and light lifting.Â
Responsibilities:
- Conduct individual and group counseling sessions for individuals with substance abuse issues.Â
- Develop and implement prevention, education, and intervention programs to address substance abuse.Â
- Assess clients’ needs and develop personalized treatment plans.Â
- Provide crisis intervention services as needed.Â
- Educate clients on the risks associated with drug and alcohol use and promote healthy lifestyle choices.Â
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as social workers and mental health counselors, to provide comprehensive care.Â
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of client interactions and treatment progress.Â
- Participate in ongoing professional development and stay current with best practices in substance abuse counseling.Â
Pay Rate:
$22 - $35 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
