Enrollment Prerequisites
STNAs may choose to work in long term care, assisted facilities and hospitals. In order to work in these fields, students must pass the State- administered competency evaluation test.

To enroll please fill out the enrollment form and we will contact you with pertinent information and next steps to complete your fingerprints and criminal background check.
Complete background check and TB testing
Each individual must complete a criminal background and is required to pass a one-step TB test which will be scheduled on the first day of class to be completed before the clinical experience at the end of the class.
Pay your tuition and secure your spot
Tuition is $800 per student and includes scrubs, textbooks and other class materials needed to complete the course.
Commit to your success
Our 75-hour, non-credit course introduces students to the principles and procedures of basic patient care. The course is regulated by the Ohio Department of Health and 100% attendance is required. The students will be given both classroom and clinical experience. An average of 80% or higher is required on quizzes and the final exam to complete the classroom section of the course and proceed to the clinical rotation.

STNA training programs require a minimum of 75 hours of training. This includes 59 hours of classroom instruction and hands-on skills training and 16 hours of supervised resident care and clinical experience at a long-term care facility.
At Veracity’s School of Nursing, you will be able to complete your classroom training in 2 -3 weeks using a combination of online and classroom instruction. Most classes will be held in the evenings and weekends to help you plan around your work or school schedules. We will help you schedule in person Clinical hours at a local healthcare facility through our school.
To enroll, you must be at least 16 years old, have a high school diploma or GED, and pass a background check. You will also need to complete a physical exam and provide immunization records.
As an aide, you will work closely with your patients to
- Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, toileting, dressing, and mobility
- Monitor vital signs and reporting any changes in patient condition to nursing staff
- Assist with feeding and monitoring food intake
- Offer emotional support
- Provide safety and ensure proper hygiene
- Assist with mobility and exercise
- Assist with wheelchairs, walkers, and lifts
- Document patient care activities for the healthcare team
After successfully completing your STNA training program, you'll need to pass a state-approved STNA exam for certification, which consists of a written or oral test and a skills evaluation. The competency evaluation assesses your knowledge and ability to perform essential STNA duties.
To take the STNA exam, students must come in full scrub attire and bring a US government-issued, photo-bearing, non-expired form of identification and their social security card.
Those who pass their test can have their names added to the Ohio Nurse Aide Registry.
